hi guys wonder if anyone can shed any light on my problem with my 56 reg 1200gs started up ok left to tick over while got gear on bike stopped could not hear pump running so fed 12v to pump pupm ran ok bike still not firing up measured voltage to fuel pump controller only 3.4 volts now ews warning on dash .. Does the ring an:comfortt have any control over the voltage to fpc ???

EWS is the immobiliser so I would imagine that yes, it would stop the fuel pump and also the ignition/injection from working.

Do you have more than one key on your key fob, that can upset the EWS ring antenna.

EDIT: I think the bikes that were 'recalled' for EWS ring antenna were your model year, perhaps yours is yet to be replaced ??

The new part number for the replacement EWS ring antenna ends in 247.

keys

Hi No onlt the one key on the bike have tryed the spare key also bike wont crank with either key just flashes the EWS msg thanks fer the reply will have to get ant ring and try it many thanks Clive ,,,,

:tears

A pity you aren't more local to me, I have a spare ring antenna in my garage (carried when touring) which would be 5 mins to rig up and test. Fitting takes a while though due to the shear-headed security bolts fitted to hold the ignition switch assy in place.

If you have some security torx screws you can reveal the multiplug on the EWS antenna and plug into the new unit whilst loose then use one key inside the ring to enable the immobiliser and the spare key in the ignition barrel lock to start the bike itself.

KEYS

£600 sounds painful but I guess anything electronic can fail even though they are usually very robust. Yours is the first ECU (on a 1200) I have heard of failing in 5 years if it is any consolation.
