Yesterday came out of work, swithed on ignition, pushed starter, just turns over but wont start.
BMW assist called, bike starts, ride home. Same thing this morning, wont start so off it goes on a truck. Got a nice new 3series tourer till it's mended though.

Any warning lights, codes, or three-letter thingies come to to indicate source of trouble?

Battery needs a good charge or it's knackered ?

Same thing has happened to me. Give it a good charge :thumb The cold weather kills them especially if there's a dodgy cell and...we use lights, heated handgrips etc etc :thumb

Not a battery problem. On an optimate when not in use. Like I said, the engine turns over as normal but will not fire up.

famous fuel pump relay thingy could be to blame.

Been out in the rain or been parked in the rain?
:)

Wont start?

"Its a BMW Sir, dont worry its covered by warranty"
"We have had a few like this recently"
There, doesnt that make you feel better?

B.M.W. should stand for.."bloody motor ****ed"

Truck

I hope the tow trucks not a BMW....otherwise you would be stuck with two vehicles outside your house....................
"Dont worry sir, we know the trucks 2 years out of warranty but its a BMW, we will offer a good will gesture. Hows does £40 towards parts , labour and callout cost sound"
Now the truck driver feels happier. He only has another £460 to pay.
Didnt the X5 keep on breaking down in the Ewan Mcgregor and his sidekicks journey?
Good job they are only used by rich housewives hitting the kerbs whilst dropping off their kids at public schools.:P
