Just spotted on and Irish FB page (cant find the post now) a motorcycle shop was working on a customers bike and found a tracking tab fitted by possible thieves.

Owner then checked bike week or so later on and another one had been fitted.

We can use our phone to search for unwanted tracking devices.

May be helpful to people here, I checked mine and was ok.

a google how to below

Wow, I didn't know this.

Sadly all scrotes will know, removing our trackers 5 mins after stealing our pride and joy.

It's why putting an air tag is pointless, as any iPhone will instantly pick it up......

Well the issue is the scumbag seem to fit them so they can follow the bike they want to rob

It’s the very obvious weakness with an AirTag used as a vehicle tracker. But they are relatively cheap, so bikermates fit them, in the belief that it’s better than being ‘ripped off’ for a decent tracker. One can only hope that they don’t used margarine in place of butter, too.

Great for finding your keys though, which was what Apple had in mind.

My Samsung S24 will automatically notify me if any unknown tags are travelling with me.

On my phone it's under settings, safety and emergency, unknown trackers.

For android ( pixel) only compatible trackers can be pinged / reported !

somthing to think about

I always remove the AirTag speaker, which is inside the tag itself, before fitting/using it on vehicles so there is no audible noise emitted from them. Lots of YouTube videos on how to do it (y)
