Anyone else thinking of heading to Newry for this? It's been two years since I last took an assessment so I think I'll give it a lash. :)

Do we have to guess the dates:augie

Depending on when, I'd like to go again.
Did it 2 years back and found it one of the best assesment runs I've done..

If i show on the Busa would they still give me an assessment?

well how was it??

I was there at about 11 this morning and was joined soon after by the bould Noodles. Lots of bikes around, mostly sports stuff though until BSD turned up.

I went out on the assessment run at about noon, two bikes and Bill Holden doing the observation from a ZX10 in full colours. The route was from Newry to Loughbrickland and Scarva then back into Newry to the HG store, a run of about 25 miles and all roads that I know very well. :)

The other guy was on a 1400 Suzuki and was not getting near the speed limit anywhere on the route. Between LBLand and Scarva was very slow as he rolled off the throttle and jumped on the brakes on every bend. In Poyntzpass Bill told me to take the lead and "ride her on to fcuk" but Suzuki man didn't seem to be up for it. :(

The feedback from Const Holden was very positive though and the run was worth the doing. If I were to do it again I think I would go later in the day so there would be a better chance of having a one-to-one assessment which wasn't possible earlier today because of the numbers wanting to go out.

I think I met Italian Trev on the Hayabusa heading towards Newry as I was heading home. I hope you had a good run out Trev and sorry to have missed you.

Spent the rest of the day with Mandy in Belfast at the NI food fair which was alright, but a little disappointing TBH. I'd hardly know that town at all now it has changed so much, but the place looks well. :thumb2

Was wondering why you left in such a hurry.

I had the same route as yourself Aidan. The guy I was with had a zzr1400.First bike safe assesment..so he was a bit nervous having a copper watching over his shoulder. He didn't break the speed limit(although constable said it was okay 5-10mph depending on conditions) didn't want to overtake.

All in all..a good day out.Weather was great.790kms door-door.
Nice to have met the famous Noodles:aidan:bow and Italian Trev(yoshi's sound great:thumb2)

You did Aidan - sorry i missed you too. I had a decent assessment but a bit like yourself got paired with a guy on a Hornet who didnt want to break 60 the whole day  The constable let me lead on the run back to Newry and with the reassurance that I could ride it like I normally do I made sure he got his RT motoring :D The Hornet dude didnt wanna know so we had to slow down constantly - pity as i had a few moves left to play :D

Great to meet Noodles and son also :thumb2

Was good to meet you too Trev. I was the one doing the questionnaire!
BTW I liked your Daytonas - they're just jealous!!!
