...really are good, This is the 3rd time in a row that I've renewed with them. I don't normally do that but the price and service they offer is top notch. I got a quote from Cornhill, who are the official IAM insurance partner, their cover is good but still a little more expensive even though there's a discount for IAM members. Bikesure were about £100 cheaper than last year and over £ 230 cheaper than Cornhill. As an extra, I have £500 excess (Cornhill was £600) with £500 voluntary excess for £50 saving. The nice lady I spoke to, advised me that I would be better keeping that excess as is, and paying the £50 to cover the excess, makes sense, as if I ever do need to claim, it would cover the full £1000. Good advice she didn't need to give me, probably commission based, but she deserved it, win, win. So basically I've got a renewal that's £50 cheaper than last year with an extra 2000 miles and the excess is protected.

It appears that the IAM member saving from Bikesure pays back the IAM yearly membership cost (£47), it's difficult to measure it exactly but it's not far off that , if not a bit better. And that includes telling them that I'm an IAM observer.

I heard recently that the IAM are dropping Cornmarket in favour of Adrian Flux. I believe it is partly due to Cornmarket not having as many underwriters on theirs books as they used to, so are less competitive.
When I came to insure my new 1300GSA earlier this year, I already had insurance via Cornmarket underwritten by Markerstudy, the best quote they could give me was £400 more than the one I took out with Bikesure, both quotes were from Markerstudy. I suspect this difference is down to the buying power of Bikesure.

Incidently, Bikesure is owned by Adrian Flux.

So, they’re nice on the phone and the cover is good for the price. My thoughts about Hastings until I had a claim.
It would be interesting to hear from anyone who’s claimed.

mixed as @simondippenhall would tell in his relatively recent dealings with their customer service

others have moaned about being directed towards 4th Dimension, but that is not mandatory despite what a pushy screen reading ape might tell you to get a referral commission

some, no doubt, who are likely less vocal, have had cheques in the post relatively promptly.

as ever, Bikesure is a broker selling a commodity and it is the performance of the underwriter that is key. You always have the option of bypassing a broker and dealing direct with your underwriter, or a third party's insurer if it is a no fault claim on your side.

It's the same with anything, you don't really know exactly until you try it. Same for all insurance brokers, including Cornmarket.

You'd think that Defaqto 5 star would mean something too. I don't know, but it sounds good.

Recently had a reminder from Adrian Flux/Bikesure that my Honda CRF 250 insurance would automatically renew in January for £116.

I emailed them to request they take me off automatic renewal.

Then today I got a renewal proposal for…£98 (or 17% less).

I shall repeat this experiment when my main policy comes up for renewal (unless I already took it off automatic-renew m, as I usually do).

I find bikesure ok, they are essentially adrian flux, who have been going for years

although i've never had to claim and i don't know if they insist on the nightmare of "4th dimension" in the event of a claim
