Jon Boy: Kicking a bit of arse eh! Nice to think all that mentoring I offered wasn't wasted?
Guess somebody needs to open a 'cloud account'; 2 gb for the .jpegs would do but 20 if you included the mp4 stuff.
Kevan has made a lot of his material available on his Flickr account where you can rip it very easily and I have your .jpegs. Colin has also made the picture of the year available! Guess we need to get Paul to dump his stuff somewhere without the 'nomad biker' motif being imprinted on it all?
Bottom line is someone needs to open a 'dropbox' or similar account for everybody to upload too: Who's it going to be? :friday

Well volunteered Peter, let me know the details when you've set it up :thumb2

I don't care what it's got on it, long as I get a copy :)

Youuuuuuuuuuu :D us boys who still work for a living don't have the time. You retired jockeys need to earn the public sector pension we're paying you :aidan

Jonno: I've been giving thought to your suggestion though was a tad concerned about who would get access to the cloud storage and whether it could be abused etc etc. Anycase, a simple answer maybe for me to create a shared album in a SkyDrive account I've got (7gb). I could e-mail all members of the trip its address and they could all upload and download as they saw fit. I'll just check it out a little more and then post again on the subject. Adiós - and keep those planes in the air. :D

Just had a look at my folder so far of pics from the trip and it's almost 11Gb. How big would storage be if all 10 peeps uploaded their pics....

Gordon, I think you'll find your .jpeg files make up a lot less than 1gb of that 11gb (unless you were shooting everything in RAW format on a 15 megapixel camera or you've just not stopped taking pictures). You can get about 500 high quality .jpeg images on a 1gb card. It's the MP4 stuff that's the killer. Some of my MP4 files shot at 1080i quality use serious memory. Guess the answer would be to limit the uploads to .jpeg data in the first instance. I will think on. :D

Guys, it would seem the bikes will be back in the UK in the bext couple of weeks and the initial date for delivery to Pershore is 30th August.:thumb

It all depends on UK customs etc and as soon as I get 100% conformation I'll let you all know.

Looks like the bikes will be back in for unloading next Tuesday. Just waiting for final conformation so I'll lket everyone know tomorrow when I'm back in the UK.

If you can come up and get them on Tuesday great but if not, please let me know when you can collect.

Guys, you may remember that my bike sounded like it was about to go to a better place yesterday ............... However, I took Chris' advice and drained the fuel and then re-filled with 97 premium stuff and - hey presto - it sounded like a GS again i.e. a tractor, but one that isn't about to go 'tits up'.
Should have taken a sound recording of what 'pinking' on a GS sounds like - not nice. Cheers.

Aye right enough that was a fairly drastic noise!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! to be eminating from one,s engine Good to find it was something simple to fix
I wonder why yours did that n mine did not strange !

Benefits to having a 'classic' 1150Adv then, they'll run on anything :D
Mibbies need tae get mesell one!!!!!!!!!
If petrol gets much more expensive i could run it on cheap vodka or whusky!!!

For the truckers on here:thumb. 2006 Peterbilt with 550 Cat engine, 18 speed fuller box, 950,000 miles and going strong. These guys run from Seattle up to Anchorage twice a month:thumb The white one hit a moose a few weeks back and you can see the damage to the moose catcher and they are solid steel:eek:

If you remember: I had to have an emergency fill up near Santa Rosa that neither you nor Jono did - the petrol station where that wee young lass (a lumber jacker she said) was pimping for someone to fill her can up! My money is that their petrol was crap. Any-case, tried it again today and it's starting to purr - though the wash I gave it probably helped its mood?

Right so my bike is home safe and sound and serviced with just an MOT to do next week and all is tickety-boo.....I've got shed loads of photos and easiest thing to do is if anyone wants them to pm me your home address and I'll burn a CD and whack it off in the post for ya....:thumb

Another Brilliant RR. I was talking to Mutley about these sort of trips. I always enjoy reading the Reports. These Trips always look like they are enjoyed by all but are so far outside my Blinkered Comfort Zone, that i'll never get to do one.
