Taller screen.

Where and what is best???

Also just ordered one of those putnams stadium seat airhawk seat things too, as me bum was a wee bit numb yesterday after i collected it!

Thanks again. :beerjug:

Welcome to the madhouse.

The nose protector is a standard BMW item for the F800GS costing something like £25.

Look at the link to popular threads for loads of info on hand guards and screens.

Personally I have the handguards from the R1200GS which fit the F650GS twin perfectly, and a very high Eagle screen which even including the shipping from Ausieland was pretty good value.

I have the standard BMW guards with the small extension on the top but wish i had gone with the 1200's as Tim did, i'm sure they'd give more wind protection for winter riding which is primarily what I need as I dont 'off road'

Thanks guys.

Can I ask, How much would i be looking to pay for the R1200GS hand guards?

Nose protector sounds good at £25.

thanks again

Hi john,

welcome, and great bike you have :thumb2

like Tim says lots of threads and pictures for you to look at, I picked up the BMW f800GS nose cone. its the cheapest available, and I have the BMW handguards for the 650/850 but agree there to small (1200's next time :thumb2)

the screen seems to be a personal thing based on your height and budget i,m on screen number 4 now :blast

I've got the BMW 1200GS handguards, like Tim, and from memory they were about £80. They fit straight on. They give better weather protection than the 650/800 guards, but theyre not as strong if you're offroad bashing branches.

I've got the BMW Touring screen, good but expensive. They do turn up on here occasionally.

You'll probably start looking for a seat soon. They're great for about 1 hour.

Thanks v8legend,

Already ordered the putnams stadium seat, airhawk type of seat.
Numb bum lots already, but still with a grin on my face. :)

So the nose cone, i need to ask the bmw dealer for a 800gs nose cone?

Is it just stuck on? easy to kit?

cheers again.

Yep, just ask for an F800GS nose, plus you'll need 2 screws, 2 washers, and 2 nuts.

fantastic,

Went over to Rainbow bikes in Rotherham earlier.

Spoke to a really helpful guy there.

Looks quite easy to fit the nose cone, so will go and order that, and also order the r1200gs handguards.

Been out on the bike most of today, fantastic fun in the sun, so easy to get through the traffic on, and confidence inspiring!

thanks for all help.

oh, the nose cone with fittings works out about 30 ish
and about 100 for the r1200gs hand guards :beerjug:

Well ordered the nose cone and r1200gs hand guards from the dealer i purchased the bike from, should get the parts on Wednesday, just over £100 pounds for both parts which doesn't seem to bad!
