I need to change the front upper brake braided hose on my Dakar ABS 'cos it's too short and tight as a banjo string when on full lock. Can't see anything on this site about it but on the Chaingang site it looks like it's a bit tricky bleeding the system with the ABS. Does anyone have any experience/suggestions on DIYing it or should I take the bike straight to a dealer?

Hi Chris, you need to take the 'tank' covers off to get access to the ABS unit and bleed it there before the caliper if I remember correctly.

Cheers Tim

Thanks Tim,

The Chain Gang site pretty much said that you needed a Moditec unit but that might be just when you need to change all the fluid in the whole system. Might just go for it on the next free weekend!
