It does a very intensive search and update for the the first time..
after that it updates quicker,
I do believe it is isolating every file and scanning then deleting any nasties...
Mine took 36 hours first time , but I do have 2 terrabytes plus of storage

why don't you try Linux ubuntu - the new 10.04 version is out now and is not only un-virus-able, it also looks pretty mac-ish to look at.

its also free to try - you'll like that

d/l it and run it from a CD without installing it to see if you like it.

Actually I would say go for Linux Mint as it is a bit quicker.

As far as un-virus-able - sorry but that is complete and utter crap, ML report Linux based spambots at 5%+ in this months report and I see Linux signatures added daily by many AV vendors.

Suits me as it pays for bills
