All this fuss over an expensive bulb. Simple solution is walk away and go to a motor factors or even Halfords.
I suspect the bouncy headlight unit on the Beemer is more harmful to bulbs than simply bolting the headlight to the chassis. My old Yamaha with simple rubber mounted fairing subframe frame and solid bolted headlight got through about two H4s in 70K miles.
My local ASDA have car lamp kits reduced to £2.99 each, with H1, H4 & H7 main lamps plus stop/tail, amber and clear indicators, number plate and sidelight lamps plus assorted fuses, all in a plastic case.
