to those that are helping this limping newcomer along thanks a million, i'm trying to get feed back from anyone with knowledge of how a blueflame can reacts on a 1200gs, the price is tempting but are they any good on a GS ? sales people at blueflame were totally useless, the guy could'nt even tell me what they weigh. any and all help with info will be much appreciated ie. on sound, power and weight. much thanks in antisapation.

I put one on my 07 GS about a month ago. Took about 10 minutes to fit it and was considerably lighter than the stock end-can that it replaces! :)

Exhaust tone is a lot fatter now - has a nice bassy burble as well when idling. It isn't excessively loud either, even without the baffle. Having had a couple of loud Blue Flame cans on my Honda Blackbird, I was a little concerned that it was going to be of a similar volume. But it's fine - loud enough for on the road, but shouldn't annoy the neighbours when I have an early start!! :D

But best of all is the sound it makes when the bike pops on the over-run! Sounds like a load of fire crackers going off and certainly gets peoples attention.

I also sent some pictures of it to Blue Flame after it was fitted, which they posted on their site (the first four images):

Hope this helps.

Before you start get some plusgas for the exhaust clamp :thumb2

Most cans are no good, power wise, on a 12GS but they do sound nicer :D The engine isn`t the nicest sounding motor but as they say you can`t polish a turd :D :D

+1. Mine sheared off even with the plusgas, I got a new stainless one from a local industrial pipework stockist in Farlington (Portsmouth) for a couple of quid.

Thanks for the helpful advice folks, on that note and at the list price, it sounds good enough for me, cheers !!

Have you made up your mind which finish you're going for yet? And what type of port? Choices choices... ;)

Also I dealt directly with a guy called Nigel and he was really helpful, so maybe try ordering directly from him if he's available.

Be sure to post some pix when it's fitted :)
