Hi all,
this may seem an obvious question and hopefully someone can answer it. There are lots of different bluetooth systems out there, some oem, some 3rd party. What I was wondering is do I have to buy the same one for rider to rider communication? If I have an Scala Rider fitted to my helmet and another rider has a Nolan oem fitted to theirs, can we talk to each other. I am thinking of buying a Schuberth bluetooth but if all I can connect to is another Schuberth?
It may seem obvious but people do post queries on devices not connecting to some headsets and was wondering if there are cross compatibilty connection issues?
Thanks

Hi Warble,

My understanding is that you need two bluetooth units made by the same company that have the ability to be paired for them to work from bike to bike helmet to helmet. I dont belive its like pairing your bluetooth phone with a GPS. I'm sure you can get two helmet's of the same make to pair so long as they support that function but two differant makes IMHO its doubtful!

Cardo Scala

Thanks Mick, that's what I am afraid of. I don't really want to buy a Schuberth kit if I will be the only one using it. (seems daft really) As the Schuberth is made by Cardo does anyone know if it will connect to the Scala Rider?

Cardo Scala to Schuberth

After a bit more hunting about it seems that the 2 units are VERY alike. I checked the Cardo site and did a search and - hey presto

http://www.cardosystems.com/src

Instructions on how to pair the 2 together. Looks like it is possible! :comfort

I think I will buy me a Scuberth bluetooth kit - although it is a bit over priced! :tears
