So my dealer has my order for a new GS, and I'm too keen to get one quickly to trawl around for a better discoun and delay delivery. But I do need some accessories (GPS, Varios Panniers, engine bars etc) and I'm not willing to buy everything at RRP. Vines have opted out, so I'm looking for a dealer who has a more willing approach to secure a sale. Any suggestions?

Why not just phone a few telling them what you want and ask for their best price, then you might be able to play a couple off against each other.

Not rocket science is it,

Nor is wisdom of the crowds.

Thanks for the somewhat chippy comment, but putting that question to the forum is an to try to save the time of trawling lots of dealers, a question to gain an understanding of whether folks believe discounts are possible, and also an opportunity for passing sellers to offer a deal.

I guess newbies get a hard ride here. Thanks.

Most of the 'passing sellers' can be found in the FS&W section of the forum Jumblemo. Its good to keep it in one area of the forum the only downside is you'll need to be a subscriber to access it and all for just £12. :thumb2

I can post a link for you if you wish to take advantage of it.

... and trust me you werent getting a hard ride, just some sound advice!

try posting this in the lc section so those who have just bought one and tried to get panniers or whatever can regail you with their tales of haggling with the dealer:D

Yes, ill add it there too. Though I brought it here as i get a sense that the dealers are trying to convince LC buyers that discounts dont exist in the new LC world

Due to current demand I think you'll struggle to get any money off BMW accessories for an LC.

You should have better luck with the GPS - best buy secondhand from the For Sale Section here. Why not look at non BMW luggage - you'll save a fortune if you can get away with a tail pack or roll bag.

Yeah after paying around 11 or 12 grand? (not too sure as not too interested) but you then haggle to save a hundred quid? I'll wait until the oil questions start coming through........

GPS

BMW ones are merely Garmin with BMW stamped on it and the cost for thus is hundreds extra!, look in the wtd section and you will be suprised what comes up.

No offence meant,
It's just that I know if I go into my dealer i' ll get a good discount because me and the missus have spent a lot of money there, whereas a guy off the street would have no chance of getting the same,
Someone here could say you might something for a certain amount but in reality you'd have no chance of getting the same yourself ,
Which is why I said to phone around a bit. :thumb

When I ordered my GSA I listed the accessories that I wanted and haggled a deal with the new bike sale....I would have thought that would have been your best route for a discount? :nenau

I know Balderstones do discounts on rrp on their EBay site....but I'm not sure they'll be doing the same with LC accessories as they're so new, and in demand.

Bet you wish you never asked now..:blast

It's ok, I'd read through the forums before I signed up and realised that I'd have to put up with the comments of the newbie unfriendly tossers. Shame though, always a few idiots with small Richards that like to hide behind a keyboard spoiling it for everyone else.

I did my research before I ordered the bike and found that getting a discount on a new GS for quick delivery would be tough. Supply and demand. Though actually I did achieve a small one. But it's not the necessarily the same case for accessories, the Nav4 GPS for example is not a specific 2013 model, nor is there any sign that supply is constrained. The varios inner bags (at £80 each) are overpriced and with all accessories have a higher dealer margin % than the bike.

So if I can get 10% off my accessories, and save £250, and add that to the few hundred quid saved on the bike, it will give me a years insurance.

So quite honestly seeking a saving is worthwhile.

By the way. What's the cheapest oil I can buy?

Yep and comments like that are really going to endear you to this 'ere forum. Good luck.

Yes, that's true, but the BMW variant does have funky integration with the handlebar controller. Admittedly it's a large premium to pay for this.
