Out and about on the 1200 today and went to set the alarm. Nothing. Got home and tried the spare fob. Nothing. I know the alarm sensor is on the speedo unit etc. Checked for any loose cables. Fuses or any other ideas or is it a job for the dealer? I do have an extended warranty but could see nothing about alarms in there. Any help would be appreciated.

the alarm unit is mounted under the plastic panel at the rear of the bike.
take seats off and remove panel. you may find a loose connection.

ps, assume batterys are ok in fobs

hope this helps

doesn't help much now, but when you get it fixed, program it to auto arm. You then never really need to use the fob, other than to switch off the sensor for working on the bike / ferry.

Things you could try:

1) Disconnect battery, this should set the alarm off, hopefully fob will then pick up the alarm again.
2) Re-sync the remote

Thanks, I have the bike user book and alarm book, I need to try a few things at the weekend!

Looks like a battery disconnect and reconnect did the trick, thanks all
