Hi guys I'm after a bit of advice.

I need new boots. I've searched on here and Santiago boots seem popular but I don't go off road so wonder if the Allround would be ok.
I love the look of the Santiago but I'm wondering if they are a bit much for what I need, plus they are a lot more expensive, but is it a case of you get what you pay for.
As you can see I'm in a mess trying to decide.
I'm looking for waterproof and warm in the winter but not to be boiling in the summer.
I hope to travel more next year so I need comfy, protective and good for all occaisions. :thumb

Any feedback will be welcome.

Had a couple of pairs, kept waterproof for quite a while without being too hot in Europe. Not the same level of protection as more extreme boots, but easy enough to walk around in them.

WOW Thanks for quick response John.

Yes I'm looking for comfort walking around as my Sidi's that I have now absolutely slaughter my feet after a while.

I've been using a pair for the last 18 months. Nice and comfy, waterproof and just finished a tour in Europe where temperatures hit the mid 90's and didn't find them too hot.

I have the slightly more expensive pro-touring boot which I wear everyday... all day... and find them really good. I'd certainly buy another pair when mine give up the ghost so to speak. Perhaps not the best for offroad adventures but they certainly handle everything I'd thrown at them... including myself at the road and climbing up a few rather large hills in the highlands carrying camping gear. I however, would not recommend the climbing up hills in full bike gear... I was rather hot by the time I got to the top... coming down was much quicker!

Santiagos are the same as the TCX Infinity or the HG RALLYE GTX II, just without the metal toe bits (which can cause you to trip/slip)

TCX make them for BMW & Hein Gericke. Subtle differences but basically the same boot.

Pay BMW price of £200+, £180 (or less) for the TCX or £120 for the Hein Gericke ones (sale on at the mo)........

I've got the TCX & very happy with them, intially stiff & needed a bit of breaking in, but fine now.

Bought BMW Allround boots today, very nice indeed. :thumb2
Comfortable as soon as you put them on and also very light.
Got good deal and great service at Wollaston BMW as usual, top people there. :clap

I think in a couple of weeks these will be worn in a treat.

Thanks to you all for your input.
