I asked why there wasn't a standard GS available on the stand yesterday-the reply was they didn't have a 2017 model available but there was a (used) 2016 model on the world of BMW stand I could sit on if I wanted to. No thanks nobbers
Will probably end up rubbing off the frame paint

...If you guessed £1,500 well done. You were only £225 under. £1,725 for a jacket - FFS...
£1725...I best get another Rukka jacket now before they put their prices up to match then
£1,725 ...........They are taking the piss , or were on drugs when they thought that price up.
The SOS button on the GTL is a waste of time. How many people end up within arms length of the bars when they've had a crash? I carry a Delorme InReach whenever I ride because I ride alone on quiet roads a lot. Although there is a handlebar mount for the InReach, I never bothered with it - I carry it in my top pocket so it's within reach if I ever got thrown from the bike.
About the BMW stand at the NEC: I haven't been so I'm going by what has been described here, but you have to remember who BMW's target market is. The people that buy BMW bikes, for the most part, are the same people that buy BMW cars - office executives. Those people don't agonise about the finer details and features of the bike, they pick up a brochure at the dealership, point to a picture and say "I want that one". Motorcycling is the new golf - it's the latest yuppy fad. Ten years ago it was surfing. In another few years, it will be something else. BMW know that. They know they don't have to convince those people to buy their brand, so they don't bother wasting time and money trying.
I think you'll find the SOS function will trigger if the bike detects a crash regardless of where the fat twat ends up

As for surfing, it was never that popular around London E1. What did we miss out on?
And when you get knocked out or bust your arm and ribs sliding into the road furniture or flying into the ditch?

If I was going to replace my super smashing blue 2014 GSA it would be with a nice classy Red or White 2017 GSA.

Was at the show yesterday and the MU 2017 GS (on the stage but out of the reach of grubby hands) looked - minus a couple of cosmetic tweaks - exactly the same as the old one.

The TB GSA looks so last week vintage and is slightly common now dahrling...![]()
Is that set in stone or will you need to firm up on it later?

Most on here are so familiar with the BMW range that the stand will always underwhelm with just bikes dotted about. Perhaps they should do something exciting, they must have a marketing team to spruce things up. I was on the stand on Tuesday and it was busy but bland.
They could start by making a bit more of the history of the BMW with a few old battered ones around. An engine chopped in half so you we can see whats moving, like the KTM engine display which seemed to hypnotise people that stood close.
BTW I ride an RT Lc and Gs 1100.
Went yesterday disappointed not a big gs presence on stand.
