I just went on a day trip to the yesterday, and mentioned in a RT Facebook group, that I would be interested in meeting up with a group of owners.

Cost is €6.00 per person, and maximum group is 25

It appears that if we all turn up on BMWs we can all ride into the factory as a group and go to the visitor centre, leave our riding gear in secure cupboards and go on a private tour.

So a couple of dates are: Monday 13th June or Monday 27th June 2016.

Tours are only on Weekdays and this gives everyone the opportunity to ride out on the weekend before, take in the sights and then be back at work middle of the week.

A couple of us are riding from Kent, and will take three days to get there with overnight stops in hotels or B&Bs.

As I don't want to be a formal tour guide, you are welcome to tag along or offer suggestions for routes or place to stay etc, but really don't want to get into a drop off type system.

If you are interested and would be able to attend, pleas get in touch and or PM me.

Thanks.

Nic

Sounds good. Be good to tag along with you, probably meet at tunnel or port and ride down together. Interested to take the bike back to where it was made. Will PM nearer the time, but date in m y diary.

We are very happy to inform you that we can confirm the following date for an exclusive guided tour at the BMW Group Werk Berlin: Monday, 2016-06-27, 17:00 o´clock.

Wobble, did you post this on the BMW site and somebody referred you to the group rules and then it promptly disappeared ?....Know why I dropped that group years ago now and seeing as it hasn't changed, will be dropping them again.

I'm interested but don't know if I'm going to Portugal round that time so can't commit....Good luck with the tour, looks a good one. :thumb

I could be interested in this trip.

Mentioned to a mate and also interested.

We would both depart from East Kent.

We did it this year. Impressive and take comfortable shoes for you will be walking a lot (+- 2 hours). Motorcycle kit not ideal. Make a long weekend of it. There are lots to see and do in Berlin. Don't need a bike or car as you can get where you want with the U-Bahn or S-Bahn or walking and you avoid the traffic. Buy a day ticket for travelling. The U-Bahn stop is just outside the factory gates. Pick a hotel near Kurfurstendamm and enjoy walking the area. Unfortunately Tempelhof has been turned into a immigration centre so I doubt you can tour the largest Nazi building and centre for the Berlin Airlift. Prebook your trip up the Fernsehtrum and make it a premium booking so you don't wait in queue and get access to the restaurant. We stayed in the Scandic Berlin on Ausberger Str. U-Bahn a few steps away, quiet for a good nights sleep, clean and good breakfast, easy access to the shopping, good restaurants nearby (tripadvisor).

If you have the dosh book a place on the Garmish tour with BMW and take the bike to the Mothership in Munich.

Did the factory tour in November 2015 well organised and you get an official tour guide while there. Very spread out across a large site so avoid having loads of bike gear with you. The factory is as you would suspect in an industrial area outside Berlin think it took us circa 30mins by train from centre. Lots to seè in Berlin get a 48hr travel pass if there for a few days can be used on all public transport.

Is this trip going a head and if so, do you have space for a couple more ? TIA

Sounds a great trip, I have just booked myself on the BMW Motorrad days trip in Garmisch, so it might be a challange to fit both in. I have a think.. Thanks.

You can apply directly to get on a normal day trip, it's about the same distance out from the centre as Heathrow is to London, and the bahn goes almost right to the front door!
I tried a couple of times last year, and they were booked up well in advance.

Ive started booking hotels, now, and whilst we still have a few months left, it seems that this trip is just not Tosser enough as its all on road :) and has only attracted us Poncy RT riders (perhaps its the hotels instead of camping - feel free to camp out on the hotel lawns whilst we are slumming it in the lap of luxury)

I've trawled through their sites and can't find where to contact them to enquire about a time slot for a tour in May.

Can you help, please?
