BMW C1 giving some jip.

Hey guys,

Anyone any good with the C1. I know i know, its a rather amusing little thing, i laugh everytime i see it. Its my mate who has got it.

He managed to "somehow" put the battery on the wrong terminals lol, and fried the wiring loom. After replacing the loom it still starts and runs but the idle control valve is not operating. He had replaced it with a new one but still not working.

Im thinking it could have damaged the ecu?

Anyone got one of these crazy contraptions? He's at the end of his tether.

No idea I'm afraid, but I do seem to remember hearing (here) that there are a lot (or certainly some) parts that are shared with the F650 range yet the F650 bits are a lot cheaper (though identical) so that may help if he needs to buy bits

If there are no helpful answers here, I'm pretty sure you'll find that you'll find the answer somewhere like this

yeah it shares alot of parts with the scarver, but also with the aprilia leonardo which the engine is based upon. Already helped him get a new starter motor for it from aprilia - £50 From bmw - £180!!!!!!

Unfortunately most of the guys on there dont even know how to change the oil... It seems most people who are smart enough to service their own bikes... are smart enough not to buy a c1!
