BMW Crash bars !

So are you insisting the manufacture has no case to answer for welding the steering stop in the wrong position, thus altering the steering movement so thats not equal and allows the handle bar to touch the tank one side !

All I've asked them to do is, taking into account all the issues and now this is to replace the bike. I think that's more than fair or should i replace the rocker cover and fit a new bar, say couple hundred and forget that i paid 15k for a bike with dodgy steering !!

No. What I am saying is that the manufacturer has no responsibily for your crash as it was you who decided to continue to ride the bike with a known fault and therefore freeing them from any comeback in the event of an accident!

No probs i understand that, I'm not out on the make £ and neither do i want my money back, all i want is the bike replacing and for me not to be out of pocket at all.

However i do have every email saved from the the dealers that suggest the bike was safe to use .

So just to be clear - BMW are going to pay for the damage to rocker cover and crash bars?

Well good luck then - let us know how you get on .

Can't understand how they can weld a frame up wrong these days though - thought everything in a factory would be done on jigs & with robots.

Its not being repaired its going back, I've had it inspected and the engineer has insisted its not fit for the rd and confirmed the steering stop has been incorrectly welded, even after i was told it was not the case and with its faults it was safe to use and amongst other things that are wrong with it, its now loaded on a trailer awaiting to be delivered to the dealer.

Sidestand, i also find it hard to believe but than again my vario's don't fit because rear subframe is out of tolerance ! Ill let you no how it pans out..

Couple mph, feet up, i tried to straighten it up but it all happened very quick so down it went. The impact moved the crash bar and exposed more of the rocker cover that grazed, not a mark anywhere else. The adrenalin was pumping and being 5ft i was amazed i picked the bike up like a toy.

At 5ft are you riding a lowered suspension model?

This is unacceptable.:rob

Keep us all posted, Ding. :thumb

Scary. You have to ask yourself where BMW's quality control procedures were when they built this bike.

Out of interest, do you know which month the bike was built?

Good luck.
