BMW Customer service re. SPC closure

With a reduced level of service facility while we refurbish the workshop, end of January, fully operational by the end of February.

Anyone passing by after 22nd January please feel free to pop in and say hello, I'll be one of many with a paintbrush in hand so just ask for PD.

Today I did just that, and funny enough they all had paintbrushes :D

It's getting there and had a nice freindly welcome from Paul and Alastair.
Had a quick chat, and left again.

All on schedule to be opening in Feb :thumb

Ten out of ten to PD and the guys at Bahnstormer, I wish hem well with their venture ---- BUT whether you agree or disagree with the original thread you have to acknowledge the fact that BMW customer services' objectives seem to be at complete odds with the dept title and presumably the description of their job function.

I have had cause to write to them regarding an issue which I can't go into here (pending legal etc) and judging by the replies do not even believe that my letters were even properly read.

Sorry (and it's no reflection on their dealers, who in my experience have been excellent) but I find the words "BMW" "Customer" & "services" when used in the same sentance highly offensive.

Seriously all credit to Paul at Bahnstormer for the can do attitude.

HIghjacking the thread slightly but when you go to buy a used car from a brand dealership (and bike for all I know) try asking to see the computer record of warranty and service work done. I did this on a previous car (Mercedes) and was able to see everything done by the supplying dealership including warranty work prior to the PDI as well as the entire service and repair history!

If they say no it's maybe because it's a "lemon"

Sadly not with BMW motorcycles. Buying a second hand bike from a main dealer earlier this month I pointed out that although the annual service had been dated, specific boxes had not been ticked (ie which fluids had been changed or not.)

Best the dealer could offer was to ring the servicing dealer and ask for their records. Nothing centralised. And this was a 'BMW approved used' bike.

Sorry

Sorry guys...humble apologies for the delay. I was out of the UK and have just returned. I was in Israel for the annual Sales Kick off meeting and forgot totally to check the threat. I really apologise for letting off steam like that and was just frustrated at getting blank wall everywhere. I gues it was because I have been dealing with SPC for so long and felt victimised along with many others who were hit much harder than me ! Sorry again. In this day and age, I expected a database of BMW to be readily available.

sorry if I offended anyone

:blast

seems I upset the applecart somewhat. Nothing intentional guys - just spending a lot of money drives you insane :(

don't beat yourself up, xylo66. SPC left a lot of very peed off 'customers' in their sorry wake. I know because we've been getting plenty of them down here, many with a sad tale to tell. I'm sure you'll get very different treatment from Paul and Alistair in the future. I've known them both for years and I wish them all the very best.:rob

Dave,

I'm an ex SPC customer (on the Isle of Wight), so i might pop down to CW's for a 12k service this spring/summer, if that's ok?

Be a pleasure to see you, Gavin. Give our Daz or Wally (CW service advisers) a call to quote/book you in. Our number is 01305 269370, but remember that we're closed Sundays and Mondays (dozy Dorchester).:rob

Dave.

btw, we do keep a good fleet of service loan bikes, so if you want you could have ride down the coast while your bike's being sorted, and have a look at seagulls and boats. There's also a really good military museum here in Dorch (Devon and Dorsets) if you're into that sort of thing. :rob

Once we've opened the doors, bring in the invoice for your service and we'll stamp your owners handbook for you.
