Hi
I am going out to Frankfurt on businss this week and was hoping to pick up a System 5 tinted visor and bits for my 1200GS. Does anyone know of a good dealer in the Frankfurt area? Somewhere central if possible as I only have a couple of hours.
Thanks

I moved from London to near Frankfurt last summer, sold my 54 plate GS1200 to SLM and have just taken delivery of my new German plate 1200GS with all the toys. Main dealer is BMW Frankfurt, Hanauer Landstrasse 182. There is also a second dealer also part of BMW Frankfurt in the Gallus District, called Galluswarte. Both are pretty central, bigger boutique is the main dealer on the Hanauer Landstrasse. They have all the bits and large parts department. Good luck

I am going to Frankfurt in a months time on a training course so I figured I would ride from Scotland and take the ferry Newcastle to Amsterdam and then onto FF.

Anything worth going to see/do while I am over on my bike, that can be done in the evening after my course?

Cheers

Alan,

if you have a spare evening and the weather is good, take a ride to the Taunus hills overlooking Frankfurt to the North and ride up the 'Feldberg' to the huge radio mast. It's a great evening run through winding roads surrounded by forests. The view at the top is excellent. Country roads are generally a lot smoother in Germany than the Uk, so you should have fun.

To get there, head out of town on the Autobahn A661. The motorway becomes single lane at the end, just continue through the tunnel and take the first exit after tunnel signed 'Feldberg' and zoom all the way up. There is a very nice banked right-hander going round 270 degrees, nicknamed the 'Applause Bend' - you'll find out why.......

Howard, I've copied the thread to the 'dealers' section - you may get some more answers there also.
