BMW GS 1200 adventure dropped - Screen mounted snapped

I have Wunderlich front brackets like short Tobinators They have expanding bolts for attaching to the bike. All very fussy but it works.
Mine was supposed to use little rubber grommets but they were too fat so I carefully wrapped around some thin adhesive tape and they have been great.

I never had the broken things in there so I just needed to run a drill bit through - I was drilling for another reason (I had some replacement fittings for the screen that were connected together by a threaded rod that had to go right through.

I think drilling yours will be hard as the stubs left behind will presumable just spin... Good luck!

If they are stuck, center pop the broken-off stub to expand it and drill. To avoid chewing the parent metal, use a drill bit a size or two smaller. Then use a suitable tap to twist it out. But the drill will probably pick up on the broken stub and spin it out. It's not threaded so should not be held solid.
