BMW GSW ADVENTURE PRESS LAUNCH

I'm liking that.....looking forward to seeing one in the tin....may even have a test ride come March...:green gri

There may be trouble ahead......and I'm a Luddite......

I'm getting that vibe.....

Cracking bike by the looks of it. I'm sure the luddites will be along shortly to pour the usual scorn and sarcastic comments left right and centre and saying the 1150 was and is the daddy ;)

it is :rob but only for those of us who have more chance of getting struck by lightning down a coal mine than we have of affording the new one , otherwise i would have one in a flash :D:D

That new GSA actually don't look too bad in those shots.

Just bought one of the last GSA 90th editions though, so i'll have to waite a few years now, till i can think of buying a new un.
Still, it'll give them time to iron out all the little niggles.

:D

Surprised no one has mentioned the fact that they've put a different fly wheel in, which I imagine would change the characteristics... in a good way.

Liking the look of it, very much :thumb

Yep, I just noticed that, got to be a good thing.

Cheers

So, 260kg "ready to ride" and €15900 inc VAT.:rob

I'd like the bigger screen and tank, but my legs are too short for the longer travel suspension.

I hope there's a low version available

So, it's only 22kg heavier than the regular 12GS. I'm impressed. The price in Germany is 10% higher than the regular 12GS, so when it lands here, should start at around £12,800, using the same calculations.:beerjug:

I like that the German BMW site already has all the accessories, full technical details and prices listed, and the UK site still has minimal information.

From memory, isn't that a narrower weight differential than the previous GS/GSA? Wasn't it something like 224/254kg? Slightly less fuel capacity than the old one helps a little (33l to 30l).

If you take the euro price, adjust the vat to UK rates and convert at todays mid rate you get £13500 ish. Either way, sounds about right.

To enhance rideability, especially on off-road terrain, the drive’s flywheel mass has been increased by 2.1 lbs. and an extra vibration damper has been incorporated into the powertrain.

7.9 gallon fuel tank with similar range to predecessor.

I agree, the extra flywheel weight could help in a couple areas. Aluminum gas tank is nice but almost a gallon less now. Had to allow room for the rads. No lower first gear, same gearing as the GS now?

I like it !! I won't buy one of the first Batch , just bought another 1200ADV and love it .I will let you Beta testers try it first . It has a great look , but would you leave it outside ? It does make the current GSA look possibly Kate Moss in comparison ,will be getting a test ride though :thumb
