BMW INSURANCE - PAH!!!

I'm just about to buy an XR250.

I phoned BMW Insurance (who I am currently with) and guess what????

BMW insurance won't allow you to add a green-laning bike to your policy as an additional bike!

You can add any other bike but not a off-road or green lane bike!!!

What do thet think the Dakar is????

On the other hand Carole Nash will allow you two bikes - one of which can be an XR250 - at pretty much the same cost as I pay to BMW just for my 650GS???

So I phoned BMW to cancel my BMW policy after 7 months - only to get a poxy 12% of what I paid back!!!

Rip off merchants!!!!!

I`ve just added an XT600 Tenere to my R1150GS insurance (fully comp with UK&Continental recovery) with Carol Nash and it cost me £23 extra for the year....bargain me thought.

....that's a coincidence.... just added my little XR200 to me insurance today .....NOTHIN!

Norwich Union mate ... maybe not the cheapest but then again i had no hasle gettin fully-com for morrocco...

After signing up in June to start on July 4th I got my docs through from BMW Insurance via SPC.

Both the 1150GS and the Kettle covered. Completely separate paperwork for each bike, stapled to a BMW Insurance booklet... check start dates on olicy schedule.... 24/11 for the GS... 16/11 for GT.... both have different policy numbers....... and even the letter stapled to the front of each section of paperwork has different people and is on different headed paper!

Have to call and see but it means that I was uninsured from July to November 26th on the GS and I feel that I should tell them they f*cked the dates up... but part of me says see what happens in July.....

I've decided to stick with my BMW insurance till it expires for the 650 to get my no claims for the year then move it overv to join my XR250 which is going to be insured 3rdpartyf+t in nthe meantime with CN who will insure both bikes for near-on the same money.

i am looking to buy small green lane bike possibly dr 200 bmw want 37 quid ,but will only cover 3rd party ,
