I used the grab rails but didn't like that. I don't have anything obvious under the rear seat that I can connect the straps to unless I'm missing something ?

Put the long straps around the frame near the back of the front seat, put the medium straps around the plastic pillar which forms the mounting for the top box? If this doesn't make sense, I will post some pics

Directly under the bag, above the rear light, there's a hole on either side, so I just looped it through there, then the front straps through the pannier mounts. If you need pics, let me know.
