Glad you are having a good time. Never saw any UK bikes when we visited BMW Garmisch (Saturday evening & Sunday morning)
Skye and I are having a great trip as well. Caught Eurotunnel two weeks ago and spent the first night on De Barge hotel in Brugge, highly recommended. By amazing coincidence we bumped into two biker couples in the Barge that were on our carriage on the Eurotunnel.
Next day we spent the night in a Castle in Bacharach which was very scenic. From there it was down to the Pension Sigg in Rust for two days while we visited the theme park, Parc-Europa.
We then headed for Lermoos in Austria to stay in a Guest House we had visited 6 years ago (Recommended by a R1100RS rider at Garmisch that year). Went via the Rhienefalls which were excellent. Stayed 7 days in Lermoos visiting the BMW meet twice as Garmisch only about 12 miles away.
Got a special 7 day Z-Ticket for the area so went up the Zugspitze Mountain, tobagganed many times, cable car trips, swimming and a couple of boat trips all for less than €40.
We also took a run down to the Stelvio pass and then on to the Timmelsjoch Pass. The weather was fantastic and the roads were excellent with very few cars, mainly just motorbikes and cyclists. We were out for ten hours so a bit saddle sore by the end of it but what a fantastic experience.
a Torrential Thunderstorm greeted us into Switzerland. We had booked a place just South of Andermatt. We were only a few miles from it and the sat nav started to direct us upward on very narrow roads. Within less than a minute of the thunderstorm starting we were completely soaked. Thunder and lighting were going of all around and the roads started to turn to rivers. The hailstones hurt like hell and it was so hard to see. Then mus and stones started flowing from a ploughed filed above us. Absolute nightmare and Skye was pretty shaken up. The worst conditions I have ever riden in. Got around a corner with only a mile to go and the road had just slid down the mountainside. Found it really hard to turn around a fully laden bike on a single track road with mud up above our boots. Was another 4 miles of detour before we managed to get to the hotel. Certainly a journey to remember.
Next day was far better and we were on route to Interlaken. Managed to take in a load of passes including St. Gothard Pass, Nufenpass, Grimselpass, Furkapass and the Sustenpass. Conditions were superb with little traffic and blue skies with a few white clouds. Arrived in Interlaken were we are presently staying at the Hotel Alphorn (recommended by a fellow UKGSer

) in time to just miss another thunderstorm. We were up the Schilthorn today and plan on going up the Jungfraujoch tomorrow.
Taken loads of Photos and on Bike video and will post them up when I get a chance. Another couple of days in Interlaken and then we head to near Geneva to stay 5 days with good friends of ours. Then a couple of days through France before returning home after just over four weeks away.
Its been a fantastic trip so far and the GS has been brilliant for the roads. Skye has throughly enjoyed it and has been an excellent pillion. We could of course have cut down on the luggage, hough have done not bad.
