On September 7th I ordered a 2007 R1200GSA from BMW Military Sales in Darmstadt Germany who sells US spec bikes to US service members. I was going to pick it up on the 23rd of Oct and called the on the 22nd to verify and I was told by the salesmen that they had a slight problem in that they built a German spec bike. Yes small problem. I was really depressed in that I had no bike because I sold my Dakar to buy this bike. The next day after repeated phone calls I was told that Munich would give me the first 2008 R1200GSA that was made in Jan. and that they would let me ride the one that was built wrong until then. Well here it is 2 weeks later and I still cannot pick up the loner bike because the dealer is waiting on the plates. Does anyone have a number to a contact in Munich that might be able to help me? This has been one the worst experience I have ever had purchasing a vehicle. Thank you.

Hi
Is it possible you could ask the dealer if you can go and pick the plates up in person? Worth a try i suppose:nenau

Good luck

I'd say getting the first 2008 uplift model at 2007 prices with a free GSA loaner in between is a good deal.

Jodi,

Sorry to hear about your problems in Darmstadt, I'm afraid I can't help you with it... but...

I'm working in Weiterstadt, staying in Darmstadt (Achat hotel?)

What the social side like over here?

I'm flying home tomorrow night, coming back monday for another 5 days.
Here again for a week in Dec... would be nice to meet a friendly face here as I've been stuck in my hotel room days now!

Gareth.

I'd say a beer is a good substitute when you have no choice:augie

I'll slowly retract the offer of a beer and go and find a lapdance...:angel
