Hi anybody interesting to ride down to Garmisch-Partenkirchen for BMW Motorrad festival? Days this year 01-03 July. I'm leaving 27th June & go to Dover - Calais then Belgium, Luxembourg, Germany may go to Switzerland & back to Germany depends on time. I'm doing camping if is nice weather otherwise b&b's & after the festival I'm carrying one riding to Austria, Czech Republic, Slovakia. Returning back to UK 15-16th July
Let me know if anybody interesting.

I believe that the festival is free and camping is 7 euros a night, I was preferring B and B or something on the way there and back though.

It is true that the threads need merging.

I don't know anyone on here but would like some tossers to go with.

I'm definitely going, this time with Phil Hough "missed adventures" believe there may be one hotel room left on this tour and all with secure parking

To all of the above, happy to meet up with people off here 'if your going to be there'.

And yes, just one double room left on this tour at the moment

I'm going with a mate. We've not been before, is there always space at the camp site or does it turn into a lick out?
We are leaving on the Wednesday returning the following Tuesday .

Me and Mrs. Stanley are going. We will be on the Wednesday night ferry from Hull, then a fairly quick blat down to get there for Friday evening. It would be great to meet for a few beers; or to ride down with maybe. After the weekend we are going to the Dolomites via loads of ace roads. Heading back the following weekend.

We've been a couple of time before; it's a really good weekend. The camping is laughably cheap, with really good toilets, showers, etc shipped in for the event.

I am going also, and I wish to attend the main event on the Saturday night in the Marquee, apparently the tickets are only available as yet if you are going via BMW dealers trips, anyone have information how to pre-book tickets for this ?

My "Jonny no mates" trip is going to start with either Garmisch or the Spa Classics depending on whether I can get out of work on the Thursday for the schlep down for an overnight in Nancy or thereabouts, followed by a scenic route to Garmisch Friday. Be great to meet up with some tossers if I end up at Garmisch.

Whichever event I end up at I'll also then be heading down to the Dolomites (via the Grossglockner). I've got this place booked in Cortina 6th and 7th July but nothing else. I've never been before so the plan is to just find something each evening, either hotel or camping depending on where I find myself.

Do you have an itinerary planned? Don't worry I'm not looking to tag on, just curious. The planning is half the fun and all that's keeping me sane at work atm. :thumb2

To add:- We have rented a self catering apartment in Garmisch a few minutes walk to the event ground and has parking for the bikes, originally three of us were making the trip but one has dropped out so if one person wants self catering (own room) for 4 nights, Thursday to Sunday inclusive, message me for details.

You don't need a ticket! It's free to go in to the event. Camping is 7 euros per tent for the duration.

I avoid that main tent at all times! Very noisy, very crowded, very euro-pop-rock-tastic.
A better night imho, is to head over to the bonfire for a singsong with Byron. Old familiar tunes; played by a campfire; beer in hand as the sun goes down..... Ace.

Lovely..

And that would be when and where exactly ? :blast

BMW Days at Garmisch-Partenkirchen. First weekend in July. Bonfire is usually towards the back of the site. I get there early for a good seat (on the grass).
