I thought it was going to be easy putting an additional BMW onto the existing policy which expires at the end of April 2016. Was thinking of putting the existing BMW as second bike, now valued at £5000 and have new LC as main bike. Spoke to Jackie, who was very helpful and came up with the quotes, £450.00 excess on the LC and £400.00 on the 2008 BMW. That would be £243.00.... Thinking not bad as it was only £50.00 more that what I pay now, on a monthly basis. NO an extra £243.00 with my remaining monthly payments shooting up from £20 a month to £111.00 a month.......
Will keep existing 2008 BMW on policy and will need to look for another company...... (Only need to cover 2008 BMW until it sells)

Any recommendations........HELP ! LC arrives today

I got a new GSA last week. I Was insured with E Bike for £750, they were the cheapest last year. with the free 5 day insurance, BMW quoted me about £900. I did some searching around and Bennets were £400 all in. Found Bennets using go compare

Try Principal insurance. I've got the GSA and XR insured for around £300 a year.

That's weird ..... I added a £15k LC GSA to my BMW Motorrad policy on which an 06 GSA is the principal bike for an additional £90

The 06 cost me £135 and my policy had 10 months to runs when I added the LC then again I do live in a very low crime rated area and don't pay my premium on a month by month basis which I am sure helps ;)

I'm jumping through similar hoops trying to find insurance as my LC GS was delivered today. The trigger for silly premiums with many of the insurers seems to be anything valued at 15k or more with accessories.

I thought I was ok having had quite a number of quotes at reasonable cost for the bike itself until I went to actually get some insurance and added the vario luggage which bumped the value up over the 15k mark and gave me a nasty surprise. Bennets went up from under £200 to over £1000, but MCE remained the same but haven't bothered getting back to me about a question I had about legal cover.

I've taken advantage of the 5 days free BMW insurance so I can do a bit more searching....go compare is where I got my quotes. Good luck

I moved from Carole Nash this year to LV due to ridiculous increase only paid about £200 on my LC. Good luck insurance companies are scum!

Had the car and bike with C/Nash on a six wheel. Moved to Direct line for the car, Bike sure for the GS and took out an RAC breakdown service and saved just short of £100. Pays to look around doesn't it.

Thanks everybody - Got it sorted by cancelling insurance with BMW, using the no claims discount and starting a new policy with Bikewiser, through Aviva. Good service in the end.....
