Hi guys,

I currently have a R1100S and i have the original Touring cases (not City lids) which fit on the standard OE pannier rails.

I am thinking af adding a R1100GS to my garage...Hence my question - can i used the same pannier cases from the S on the GS??? or will the exhaust get in the way...???

here are couple of pics of the cases.

Yes & No

Lars1974 -- The offside one will fit , the nearside one will foul the exhaust - unless you happen to have either a "stubby" or "Zorstec" exhaust fitted .

I used to have a Boxer Cup alongside my 1100GS and the GS specific cases fitted with no problem on the Boxer Cup - with a rather large gap between the nearside box and the rear wheel .

All the best , Jim .

Lars,

Those nice people at WUDO sell an exhaust lowering kit, this drops the silencer, and provides a mount for a full size case to fit the left hand side. Ironically, this means that the left pannier will be slightly bigger than the right, as this has a small reduction to allow for the carbon canister fitted to US spec machines. This is a good peice of kit, Motorworks sell it. Its not expensive.

I had a similar setup on my 1150R, it worked well.

If this is the kit its arounf £100 and I'm not sure you can fit the large pannier still as the mounting point is closer to the wheel by about 1 1/2"

I have a stubby fitted and have had to buy a spare rear footrest hanger and I am getting the welder at work to modify it for me. I got in touch with WUDO about 6 months ago andf they said they no longer sell the part howeverCustom Chrome do sell a part which will do the job, I'll see if I can find it again and post a reply.
