BMW OFF ROAD SKILLS X challenges for sale?

It was possible to put down a fully refundable deposit on an unseen bike and if you are not happy you can refuse it - so I would say it is worth a call to Vines to put yourself on a back-up list if anyone drops out.

Some of the bikes are now in with Vines at Guildford.

The 800GS and 1200 Adv all look to be in a reasonably good condition.

My 650X Challenge is in better knick than I thought it would be :augie

What is the delay? It sounds like you have actually seen the bike so i guess it is at vines already:nenau

Yep...waiting for Vines to give it its service. Spoke to Alex last Monday and he gave the impression it was in the workshop and would be ready by the end of last week. Spoke to Alex again on Friday and was told it had not been in the workshop and he would ring me back on Monday.

I will definitely be getting my servicing done by those nice chaps at SLM :thumb2

I know what you mean,my mate bought a x challenge last year from Vines, they were well used, this year I bought a F800gs,I have just got mine yeasterday,a bit of a delay this year, however they are supplying them with a years tax and the annual service early, they were only registered 05 March this year, when I saw my bike for the 1st time it looked ok,but when I collected it yesterday,it had a clean, service was done and there was tax on it,brand new set of tyres and a new clutch cover on mine, the only part that is new I think,so there has been a lot more prep gone int the bikes this year, and it shows, mine road home lovely,1700 mils on the clock only, not bad for £4995.

Well...picked the bike up at lunchtime today. Nice ride home and then up to my parents. Already fitted my barkbusters, TT small luggage rack, TT side stand hardpart and TT adjustable brake lever.

I need to get out and get it dirty. I have a slight problem with the clutch lever which seems very wobbly in the "bracket". I don't think that is quite thick enough so I will either get another BMW one of try and get an aftermarket one. Should the levers be black or silver?

Thanks

N

Mine is silver and is also a bit flappy (ooerrrrr missus). I also don't like how far they are away from the bars and I am thinking of getting the adjustable ones from Wunderlich.

No that is the brake lever at the bottom of the page the clutch lever assembly price is at the top

I have just been looking at those as well. Has/Is anyone using these at the moment and do they fit within the handguards and will the stop my flappy business:augie

Research and opinions will be forth coming. Managed a single lane this afternoon as a shakedown run and am now suffering a bit with a sore hand from my BSA off nearly 3 weeks ago.

Plenty of available power off road coming from a 250. The only thing that I have broken is my pass light flash switch does not put high beam on at the moment. The normal light switch does work.

Oh...quick question how hard is it to pump up the shock using the supplied pump? The pump works on a bike tyres but does not seem to have enough ummphh to affect the shock pressure.

Thanks

Nigel

Pump harder and longer - works fine

I think you might be missing the bush in the clutch lever which would cause the floppiness! I have a set on order!

Johnnyboxer - your quite correct like anything in life pump harder for longer :augie
