BMW present the new 1250GS

Side rads on an adventure big doesn't sound the best idea to me. Maybe they will sell nice expensive radiator guards as an option ;)

As probably around 99% never leave the tarmac and 99.9% of road riders have never had a stone through the radiator, it probably wasn't much of a design consideration......

Do you reckon 10bhp improvement is possible from an extra 50cc? Having said that, being water cooled it might rev higher too! But low end grunt is where is counts.

When talking with Triumph sales chap they were saying how the their bike has throttle "fly by wire" - have I got that right? Super quick pickup on acceleration although I like the exhaust note of GS over Triumph, Triumph sounds closer to standard jap bikes - smooth and characterless!

I'd like to see that also! Plus a better seat!

I think there will be an improvement from the Head design now that the exhaust can come out the bottom.
I predict 115+ BHP and minimal change in Torque.
They can do a lot with better breathing - the air filter in the 1200's still gives me the willies - it half blocked off....

I think this is ging to be a lot better bike and maybe 3-4 kg heavier if that.

My two cents worth...

And it will grow on us - all styling these days looks a-la-Honda Cross Tourer.

Now, wot about the new Doo-catty Adventure and new KTM Adventure???

If it is a great bike and I am still gainfully employed than I will have one :D

Personally I don't think this is the new 1250. If it really was then it would have a bmw copyright notice on it. It is just a Photoshopped image that has been mirrored to put the shaft drive on the left side which is why it appears to have the rear brake fluid reservoir on the side as the gear lever.

i think your right. they always appear on the german BMW motorrad site when theyre ready. i really cant believe that they would make the mistake of putting the g650gs headlight on their flagship at such a critical and crucial time for the GS. (due to the introduction of bikes in the class from most manufacturers)

if you look at the photos of the bikes that have been on test the headlight is very similar to the current shape but with the Halo surround so this pic is most likely a mock up

exactly and the side of the tank looks like its a disguised version with similarities to the shape of the new f700gs

US dealers are already getting notices of 2013 bikes in production, and they're identical to the '12's, including the color choices.

I'm gonna go with one of those now, and in about 5-6 years when they've got the bugs worked out of the WC's, I might think about getting one then - but I doubt it. :nenau

As another poster already stated, I also believe that the last of the air-cooled models will become classics, plus they've had as many of the common faults/issues addressed as is possible. :rob

You are correct. That's a photo-shopped picture that's been floating around for ages.

There are several emerging spy shots of the new model and while the production version may be a little different, it won't be what's shown in that picture.

Video is definitely a fake! LOL
