Sean it could be a complete money pit. A cheap asking price could cost you thousands to sort out. They don't fetch huge money as well sorted bikes.

The 100/7 could have either the heavy flywheel engine or the later light flywheel engine. Big differences between the two bikes so if you can find out the year we can shed a bit more light on it.

I have a 1975 100/7 in bits 98% there so if the other bike is the same age could make 2 bike in to one good runner

As long as the one you're looking at is pre 80 then the parts are interchangeable anything later and there are significant differences.

I would grab it if your nearby

A restoration project went on Ebay for £1100 a couple of days ago.

(I bid £630)

HI all,
Went to see the guy today. The bike is 1979. Was a tradin, so set price of £350. Just some rust on some bits. I think it may need new front disc - I have one, new rear springs, new set of keys - all locks drilled and tires. I have another engine in case this one does not work, but i hope it does. I have lots of bits in my shed.

So, did you buy it? :)

Sean,

The positive battery lead goes to the starter solenoid where a second cable feeds the electrics.

Have you had the cover off the starter to see if everything is connected ?

It sounds as though you need to trace all connections methodically, cleaning contacts and checking continuity as you go.

Do you have a Haynes Manual for this model ?

Bob.
