Hi all

does any one know if you can put an 18 inch wheel in the 100gs to change
the gear ratio to road from off road, For example, could the wheel from a r100rt mono or a r100 mono work if the back brake hub will fit the other wheel

I think this has been covered in the past - and the answer was that the cast mono 18" wheel won't fit the paralever drive / brake assembly, quite apart from issues of clearance with the swingarm.

I used to have an '88 R80RT and though I never tried to fit its rear wheel to my '89 R100GS I recall that the hub shape is different and the wheel bolts are different lengths (50mm on the RT, 60mm on the GS).

No doubt Proff and/or Rob Farmer will be along shortly !
