BMW R1200 GS 2017 Model Update

So the Rally model is basically an Adventure without the bigger fuel tank!!

I like it.

So the picture on the other thread wasn't rendered then! All 3 look better than the latest gsa in my opinion!

Surprised by how few changes there are. I thought they would be gunning for Ducati and KTM with electric screens and 161 bhp ( got to have slightly more power than those imposters :D

What I'm a liitle confused about is why they are still using silver and black engines ? Not enough of an upgrade for me to change,I'll wait to see what 2018 brings. I hope they give them a good wash after riding through all that salt water !!!

Apart from the Rallye the colour choices are worse than normal:blast

Plus if you go for the Touring pack looks like you will be stuck with keyless WTF is that about:mad:

Not sure what you're expecting :nenau 2017 models are getting the LCI update, 2018 is unlikely to have as many changes.

The 2017 bikes look good but the changes are not really significant, it's just a refresh to keep sales going until the major update, probably next year.

Not chocolate brown for a start and chavvy gold calipers not a good look in my opinion ! I would have liked a bit more power without going through all the bollocks and cost some go to on here to get a few more horses and a completely new gearbox would be good not just a few tweaks .

It's all horses for courses!
If you like it you may go for it, or not.
If you don't like it you won't.

Last big change was TC to LC but, being used to a lumpy twin with a heavy flywheel and lots of torque the lighter flywheel, at the time, didn't appeal to me so, when a lot of owners were changing to LC, I bought a TB TC with a nice weight to the flywheel and I couldn't be happier with it than a pig in shite (although pigs are actually quite clean animals).
I won't be selling it either until I can't walk (let's hope that's a long way off) so as I may be attracted to new models (irrespective of manufacturer) I won't be selling my GSA. I would, however, not complain about adding a XSR900 speedblock jobby into my stable!
In saying that an old airhead might appeal to me too.
So many choices and we're all different!
There are a lot of nice bikes out there but they all cost money (I'd love a go on a X-Diavel but can never see me having that kind of spare cash).:beerjug::beerjug::thumb2:thumb2

It sounds like ESA has had some tweaks. Auto ride-height adjustment sounds so much better than the arbitrary 3 position stuff at present. Being on the slightly porky side, I find rider only is slightly too low, but rider + luggage is slightly too high. The steering is much better in rider+luggage. Lean-angle sensitive TC is new too, innit?

It is horses for courses, but the LC has more torque (and power) than than the TC, I had a TC for 3 years and put over 30,000 miles on it, the LC is just that bit better for all my needs.
