Has anyone fitted this? if so, does it look ok and help with the splash back whilst ridding in the wet?

I also wondered if it help with the wind noise that comes under the front guard and up though the clock pod area?

It arrived today, but I'm unsure now about fitting it.

shouldnt you have asked the questions before you bought it?,or ffs just fit it and deceide for yourself if it looks good and makes any difference to wind and rain or whatever, its starting to become like a self help group for 12 year olds in here these days, wtf do people want their hand holding over the most minor issues:blast

If I fit it, I have to drill holes in my fender, so its not as easy as that OK. The bikes brand new and the fender was £108.

I asked for feedback from others who may have fitted one, so if you have nothing constructive to add, don't bother.

A simple thread asking if others have fitted one, just like others post threads about exhausts, screens etc etc. Its what the group does, others help you make a decision to buy anything from a bike, to a front fender extender.

But thanks for your input ;)

Any views on your DeLonghi kit, mate?

Yeah, its perfect for our hard water area as the element is hidden. I believe Curry's have the kettle and toaster kit on offer at the moment, 2 slice or 4.

Do you think the black clashes with the light work tops though?

so in simple terms you spent 108 quid and have to ask someone else if it looks good?,how do you manage in everyday life for gods sake.

The noise is likeley to be the same, i would consider it a permanent fit and not worry on resale of bike, it looks tidy in the photos, unless its on pcp and youre changing,
I miss the gsa trim , the beak appears bare in comparison,
Not sure of claimed benefits re staying cleaner,
mine is stonechipped on the front edge , so looking at fitting one to my gs lc,

Going by the reviews, it is a great fit and fits the styling of the gs,
Ideal for protecting from / covering stone chips, generally a cosmetic benefit,
So i bought one from Nippys, as a new year Farkle,
Not sure it helps but it l am sold on the idea, as said i slightly miss the adventure look,
I could post a report later if you aren't in a rush, but the keeping clean bit may be minimal,
I do a lot of dirty lanes and dont get much spray from the front wheel, plenty from the rear,
If you do fit it i would use a 4 mm drill to keep the screws a snug fit ,

I've just ordered a Chinese replica version as Touratech charging £108 is an absolute pisstake.

I'm with the OP on the beak tho, just not sure on the look. I've got a few stone chips on the leading edge of the beak and hoping fitting a bit of plastic helps with extra protection.

For those interested in the Chinese version:

I fitted the one above the Chinese version and it looks really good aesthetic wise, as for noise etc not a clue as I haven't ridden it since fitting. Rather than asking for subjective opinions put it on using tape and have a look at it in situ.

and a free thinker at last:D

I had one one my blue GS. I didn't like drilling holes to fit it, but once it was on, it looked OK. I don't think it actually does anything to stop water splashing, and it's one of the things I wouldn't bother with again. And the touratech bolts rust after a few weeks.

So, no, send it back, and you can pay for lunch when we meet up.:thumb:D

£109 in the U.K. £85 in Germany....that is some mark up. Even at £85 it is a complete piss take.

The Chinese one is £36 delivered lol and they are as usual an exact copy.

I have one fitted to mine, the Chinese ones were not available at that time unfortunately.

I have not noticed any road noise with it fitted (Anakee IIIs). In wet weather I have never noticed any water splashing issues. I did not ride the bike with a stock beak in the wet though, so can not give a before/after comparison.

I like the looks, it's to dark in my garage to get a decent picture at the moment, but can take one if needed tomorrow.
When fitting, put some tape to protect the beak at the front where the guards locating clip is. It will stop any future marks if you remove it later. The two holes you need to drill can be easily plugged with small blanking grommets if you remove it later. The screws and nuts can be swapped for stainless ones or just coat them with some ACF50 grease.
Use a 4.5mm drill bit only, not the 5mm bit recommended.

It offers good stone chip protection for sure and is a nice bit of bling as well.
Hope that helps, but don't forget, once I get past 2000 posts I will resort to making pointless sarcastic comments, so hurry up and ask any more questions asap :thumb:D

Thank you all for the feedback and suggestions. I tried it on the bike earlier and its a great fix and quality, but at £108 it is a piss take. I'll keep it though as it goes with the other Touratech items I've purchased and fitted.

It suits the bike as well and matches the OEM plastics well. I thought it would look HUGE and stick out, put if fits well.

I'm going to fit it tomorrow and coat the fixings with ACF grease.

It may offer some extra protection from splash back, but only time will tell.
