I bought this peach of a bike essentially to complete a 1500 mile tour of Southern Ireland, which it has just completed without an issue, as you would hope! Last trip I went on with an RT though, abs gremlins stopped the rear brakes working, so I made sure that this bike had had the abs servo gubbins removed! Lots of service history and minimal mileage in recent years, it’s got decent tyres and brakes and is running perfectly. Furthermore, it’s in almost mint condition, so before you compare prices from dealers selling corroded, higher mileage examples, take a look at the pictures! It averaged a genuine 60mpg on tour and I get a bit more cruising around locally. It has electric screen, Wunderlich lowered pegs, K series mirrors (much safer), bar backs and heated grips, but no cruise, However, the throttle is so light it didn’t bother me at all last week. Silky smooth engine is nicely run in at 34000 miles and comes free with a gear change that trumps the later LC models…..why would you spend more on something newer when you can have this much bike for £3250?!

this era of RT are pretty good value

Dumb question, but does that mean the ABS no longer functions, or is it just the servo assist that was ditched?

No abs, but powerful, reliable brakes now. Even the controls have been changed to non-abs type so a very neat mod……

Add £22000, you could have this one! I’m sure it’s lovely to ride though, but depreciation in the 1st year would be double the cost of my bike……
