BMW R80 G/S red edition

Sorry about that , i can see you posted the video some time ago.Its interesting to see some peoples comments before they know the originality of the bike.

I know the originality of the bike. Indicators still aren't good for an off road intended bike.

Mick's right about the brake adjustment.

Wreford, I can't believe you didn't know this, but on this model, the hill hold start control is electronic using solenoids in the rear hub, not by bits of metal moving. ;) :thumby:

Aha! Having watched the video, now I realise the significance of the special red paint. Still don’t care for it but the vid was great! Many thanks for posting. :thumb2

I thought Hans Muth was responsible for ironing out the 'Gummi Kow' monicker attached to the high speed weave of the R90s, caused by the lift created by the handlebar fairing and it was the R100RS that was his special project, using wind tunnel testing for the first time on a BMW motorcycle, the RS fairing actually produces downforce above about 30mph and directional stability in turns retained by the airflow over those little 'winglets' halfway down, they are not just for show. :thumby:

My thoughts precisely Peter.
Happy Hogmanay to you.

And a Happy New Year to you too, Richard. Fingers crossed for the Manx next year!

All correct although I think Muth may have been responsible for the overall design of the 90S too? BMW certainly owe him a huge debt.

Thanks for posting the link Steve, that was really interesting.

I like that Hans Muth is wearing an RAF badged jacket. I think Tetley has another bike to add to his collection. :augie

Georg Martin had a hand in my GS, which also happens to be red (Ze Red Baron!)
