hello where does the oil come from to go to the left exhaust rockers as mines running dry some one before me has bodged it trying to save my engine etc does not say much in the Haynes manual !:smokeboun:surrender:banghead:

The oil comes up the two top studs, there should be a small O ring in a small recess in the cylinder base anything after the /7 models I think

Check that the spindles have been installed the right way round? There is a dot on one end It goes to the top and the dot is furthest from the head

Slip the Barrel off and check for gasket goo in the stud tubes thru the barrel

You can get rocker arm bearings in their own but check the spindles for ovality if they have been running dry for a while?

It's a common problem for the barrel studs to strip the threads in the engine cases on later bikes - Has someone helicoiled or inserted a timesert into the engine case to repair any damaged top stud threads ????
If so perhaps they haven't drilled out an oilway in the repair work.

I've seen it and had to repair someone elses repair many times.
Usually repaired by expert motorcycle mechanics who have no idea about "simple" BMW engines.
