Got a letter a couple of days ago from BMW saying that my bike was due a recall re rear wheel flange, and to contact my nearest BMW agent. Strange thing was that it also stated that they had no parts at present to effect the repair, and that they would letter me when they had. Nothing to say that the bike was safe to ride etc. Anybody else had this, just appears to be a bit strange !!!!!!!!!!!!

Got the same letter.

By all accounts its time to experience for myself the excellent service thats apparently available at John Clarks rather than another albeit more local east side dealer - when the parts are in anyway??

Mine was in Motorrad Central, Dalkeith for the fuel collars, got a call saying it was ready, then got another call 20 minutes later asking if i wanted the rear flange done as they had the bike so naturally i said yes. Basically my flange has been changed before I have even received a letter from BMW. Can't really fault that level of service.

I had the same as MWH,fix flange when it was in to have the fuel pump ring fitted.I was told the flange that was fitted was steel ,old one aluminium. The change was to stop people stripping threads on aluminium flange.
