Hello all, I would like to remove the original fit Bmw Nav. Holder from the middle of the handlebars on my 2023 F750 GS. I have traced the electrical connector to the offside upper fairing. The info I have is that the complete black/white connector should slide to the left and then can be unshipped from its holder and then can be separated. After trying more than once, I have managed to slide the complete connector approx. 5mm to the left and then it goes solid and will not move anymore and will not remove from its holder.
I am reluctant to apply any force(screwdriver) and am convinced I must be doing something fundamentally incorrect.
Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

Cheers
Alistair (newbie on here)

I had difficulty uncoupling the connector on my 24 800GS - I was using a YouTube video (showing a 750GS) as reference but could not get it to budge in the same way as shown on the video. Many of the people commenting also had the same problem. Turns out that the connector was different on later models and the right-hand side of the connector needs to be uncoupled from the left-hand part - in the video it’s the other way around.
Once I discovered this it only took a couple of tries before it unclipped. Possibly the same with your 750, worth a try.

Hi mort77uk, thanks for your reply. I have possibly been looking at the very same YouTube video, it does slide slightly and then feels like it’s hitting a stop of some sorts. I will have another go later and see what happens if I try to separate it like you say. It would be nice to see a picture of the complete connector to fathom how it’s retained on the bike.

This is the connector on the sat nav unit, plus a shot of the mounting slot. The right-side connector is taped up and attached to the inner fairing, hence no photo.

Wow, you are a star. A picture paints a thousand words, thank you very much indeed. I can now see what’s supposed to happen and you are absolutely right, I am pushing the connector in the wrong direction. :)

It is easier if you first unplug the black connector.

To do so push up at its bottom (where there is a release catch) while sliding it to the right.

Thanks, I have now managed to unplug it and remove the nav cradle completely, once I saw mort77uk pics it all became clear
