I called BMW to renew my extended warranty, they ask if any mods. I tell them only the same as last year, a full Akra system, BMW HP can.
BMW say, no thank you, no extended warranty, but you took my money last year and for the previous bike with the same exhaust, still no.

So who next for a good euro wide service?

Why not submit a subject access request under gdpr, don't forget to request all automated processes and how they operate.

For some weird and inexplicable reason, previous decisions seem to have been misunderstood, and lo things magically change back to the way they were.

Just a thought but could there a requirement on them now not to cover mods that bypass emission regs ?

I know Aprilia withdrew the dealer pads capability to delete lambda for example because it would allow breach of emission regs. The function is now passworded ( track only) unless you know the right peeps.

More like they are fed up with paying out....

Officially only the BMW HP can is listed on the parts list. Down pipe is not. Maybe they made a mistake the year before? Is your bike a 1250 or 1200?

My bike is a'17 1200 and the full system was on my '14 1200 before, they took my money for the warranty then as well.

How will a SAR Help? its not a golden ticket to every problem you have online.

The refusing to renew the extended warranty is nothing new. I was asked a couple of years ago if my GSA 1200 LC had been modified, it had but only with a Remus hexacone can. Was suggested that I remove it or any warranty extension would not be valid. In the end I put std can back on and paid up...

Because it allows you to check that they are using correct information, the number of times, it subsequently comes out that despite claims that xyz refused and xyz was never asked.

Also, if he was never going to be covered due to the system, then he can ask for a refund of all premiums as that is called misselling.

Insurers can and will change conditions of insurance, as they see fit. However it is strange that for years it was covered (allegedly) and now it isnt.
