BMW Servicing in East Midlands

6000 Service

I got my 1200 mk11 2009 from a honda dealer ( long story in my favour ) who reckon it's going to take three hours to do a 6000 mile service any thoughts:nenau

You know how long it takes to do a 6000 service.............you organised one!

Took me a day and a half to do the 18,000 on mine..................on and off between 'can you justs' !

Go into Woolastons to buy an Oil Filter for your R100GS - sorry but we have none in sotck - but I could order one for you if you want to come back - so could I delivered to my door from Motorworks - waste of time going in there

Balderstones

No one has mentioned Balderston, Peterborough i bought my 1200GS from them, got a good deal, and have had it serviced there, and Chelle will make you a coffee!!!!!

Always take my BM's to Balderstons - Excellent service !
You just have to watch out for TJ, their salesman though -

He keeps putting tasty bikes by the door so you see them as you come in, then insisting you take 'em out as a loan bike whilst yours is being serviced :D

In Leicester then no question - Phil Hawkesley. he can do all the basic servicing on a RT - which will save you a packet. Though as has been said his forté is with the older airhead models.

Alternatively I use Jim. http://www.ifixyourbike.com/mobile-motorbike-services-about-us.php

he's fully mobile - will come to you. do whatever you want. cracks on with the job and his rates are pretty damn good compared to Pidcocks.

He can tackle any job that needs doing on the 11xx varients. from a simple service to a new clutch.

He does the jobs for me that I'm either not equipped to DIY or plain cant be bothered with. I cant praise this guy highly enough.

I have absolutely no reason or need to bother with Pidcocks. and so I don't. If your bike didn't come from them then you are not a priority - also compared to the independents their rates are extortionate.

Another satisfied customer of Jims here. I took my bike to him (I only live a couple of miles away from him) and he let me stay and watch and ask stupid questions. A good price for the big 36k service on my 1150 GSA (compare to the £400 + quoted by Piddcocks) and I learned a bit more about my bike. I shall be going back.

Just click on the link in the above post then on "Contact us" ;)

Just thought this was worth a mention.

New Clutch - supplied and fitted by pidcocks. the quote: £1015 all in.

New Clutch - supplied and fitted by Jim Hill £220 for the clutch and £215 labour.

do the math. :augie

Jim's great, but sadly there'll always be those suckered into the 'BMW Dealer network' :blast

More fool them I say :rob

Jim hill

Had jim hill round this week to do some work on my 1150gs great bloke and very good prices compared to pidcocks.:)

S.E.D. Sleaford (400 yards from A17)

Boxer specialists.... Did serious service and inspection on mine yesterday including tune up and balancing etc. before and after test ride.. Didnt try to talk me into any unnecessary work like some people. Was even happy to talk me through the various pros and cons, things to watch for, common faults Etc.. Real eye opener!

Bike rode really nicely before service, so I wasnt expecting to feel a difference but the improvement was immediately noticeable when I rode away

Does tuning, modifications, rebuilds, carb and twin spark, conversions, polishing, porting, re-mapping Etc. Etc. Has in-house machining facilities Too...

Nice, friendly people to top it off...

Well worth the cost.

Can't reccomend highly enough....

That's Steve Scriminger - he did a brilliant job on my R80 GS when I got it - needed a good sort out after ten years stood at the back of a garage.

I didn't think he was too intersted in servicing, as he is normally snowed under with the specialist renovation & conversions - maybe times have changed

Great news! As of 21st May 2014 We can now MOT your bike at our own premises. Unit 2 Acton Street, Long Eaton. NG10 1FT. appointment only.

Cheers, Jim
