I like my Arai but, I'd like a helmet with a sun visor, so I might as well change to a flip at the same time.

Any users out there able to offer good advice re the two lids?

Shuberth C3 vs BMW System 6

I have both.

The BMW system 6 has a bit more padding on the cheeks so tends to give a "gerbil" look. It also has more space in front of the mouth so if you have a microphone it is much better.

Apart from that they are both good.

I recently looked into buying a c3 pro after years of Arai's ,my normal Arai size is large so I ordered a Large size c3 pro in mat black, when it came after a few days I tried it on and instantly felt too small ,excellent quality and the drop down visor looked fantastic but no matter how i adjusted the chin stap it felt just a tad too tight ,so back it went for a XL size .when this came i thought it would be just fine but after a test ride it was really far to loose and felt dangerous to wear as the helmet moved about when riding over bumps etc! I guess my head size is somewhere in between the two sizes and neither felt as comfy as my Arai's. I guess the moral is try on as many as possible just to be absolutely sure as £500 is not cheap!:rob
Gav.

C3 is by far the better helmet. System 6 build quality is very poor. I have had 4 replacement System 6's under warranty, two with leaking seals around the visor and a further two for breakage to the sun visor. I was so pissed off with the BMW System 6, I went out and bought a C3.
:thumby:

I have both and the Shuberth C3 is better quality and more comfy than the system 6. made in the same factory so I am told.

Schuberth C3 Pro for me, am a "L" in Arai and Shoei but oddly only a medium in Schuberth.

I great helmet, best I've had in 25 years +, very comfy! very quiet and great when combined with the features of the Nav 4.

In short, I like.

To ride on a WC 1200? I'd chose a flower pot.

Oh! Nuttteeeee, when you've finished knocking one out over the prospect of new radiator guards for next year's model, move this garbage to the section that deals with bods who cannot decide which melon case will fit their melon in styleeeee.

Yeah c'mon batman1 - practice a quick trance induction on yourself and repeat after me..."I must post in the correct forum....I must post in the correct forum.....as I'm sitting here, typing on my keyboard, listening to the gentle click of the keys and watching the letters appear one-by-one, on the screen, I can feel reassured that in posting in the correct forum I will feel good about myself and my fellow GSers who will value my posting for their true worth...."

Or words to that effect.....:thumb

I have this theory that anyone that has over 5000 posts in any forum has to be ignored because .............. Fill in the blanks as you will! To many glasses of vino me thinks!!!!:hide

I have this theory that anyone............. To many glasses.......

I have a theory that anyone who does not know the difference between 'to' and 'too' is....... Insert whatever vegetable from the 1200 WC's panniers you like.

I'm looking at Lids myself at the moment. What may be of interest is

C3 and new C3 pro to consider as they still sell both (Pro has, better vents, stabalisation, built in bluetooth antena etc :jibberbig etc (£50 difference)

:rob From this Thursday Hein Gericke start a 20% off everything in store which makes it cheaper than a system 6 :D

Never had a system 6 before although my old C3 is a good one :thumb

so I ordered a Large size c3 pro in mat black, when it came after a few days I tried it on and instantly felt too small

Your not alone my brother in law had the same thing with a C3, with it being a tad small - he persevered and something has given (may be in his head), now all is OK :nenau :nenau

Based on my recent experience, I'd recommend a Shoei GT Air, if your head's the right shape for one.

I love my C3 pro had a BMW system 5 before and the C3 is all day comfortable.

Better vents and lighter.

It's expensive though when you fit the Bluetooth collar.

But the radio is very good on long trips or the iPod if you are outside the Uk

The Shoei Neotec is better than either the Schuberth or BMW.

Can a mod move this thread into the right section.

Too busy wondering whether the 2014 edition's steering damper should be a compulsory retrofit onto 2013 bikes.
