Just received my Used bike warranty documents,
Exclusions shown on page 3
Final drive - Shafts.

Nice to know BMW are so confident in their products.

That's strange Sooty - I've just renewed mine and see that the final drive IS covered. I guess you have a different document to me, as Page 3 on mine makes no reference to Final Drive or Exclusions.

Thats annoying, mine is a BMW used bike warranty supplied with a second hand bike by the dealer. I wonder if they give a budget cut down version?

I wonder if they give a budget cut down version? - Do you mean the final drive itself :hide

I apologise for the flippant non constructive comment but i found it funny :)

To try and be helpful I would suggest that time spent discussing the tow seemingly different policies would be time well spent. In seriousness and although its a fantastic bike the FD reliability (or lack of it0 can be a distraction for us few poor souls who may suffer so its best to get it nailed, peace of mind and all of that...........

Strange.......mine was renewed only last year under the 'extended' warranty.

I hope I won't need to claim it again but I will check this years renewal documents.

I might be wrong here, but I think your book is right.
You say SHAFT which is not the final drive, as such.
I had a s/h 1200GS last year and my warranty book said just that.
Something else to bear in mind with these wonderful warranties is that the dealer will only pay for the labour, and not the parts.
The way I saw it, was that for argument sake a gearbox shaft let go and wrecked the gearbox, the dealer will do the work but charge for the bits.
I think the wording was roughly," the dealer will pay for any repairs covered by the warranty"- on one page, and another " the dealer will not pay for the parts of any repair covered by the warranty".
That's how I construe it anyway.
Good luck.
