I've researched, You can only take a boat from Athens, Greece, to Cyprus. To access the south. From Turkey the south its not possible.
Anyone recently taken this route ?

=======

Moved and title edited.

If you land from Turkey, it’s my understanding you cannot cross into the south as the landing point is not legally recognised.

You can only go from Athens if you need to access the south and that’s a monster ferry trip……

Not much in Cyprus really… not certain it’s worth the effort

I’ve been recently…… but used EasyJet……

Yes, that's correct. (y)
have you used this route ?

Basically, you can't enter from the North as it's occupied territory. Bit of a sore point, kind of "don't mention the war" type of thing.

If you want to ride in Cyprus (and you should! ) check out Ippos Bros. rentals in Paphos.

Cedar Valley Road is a highlight but it's hard to find a bad road once you're away from the coast.

@Wapping . Richard, Why have you re titled my post ? I deliberately didn't want info from Turkey as I know you can not cross in the south of Cyprus ?
You / Ukgser has got worse in my absence. Now changing individual posts . What is going on here ?

It was in the general travel section, Nigel.

Its central theme is a ferry to Cyprus from Greece. There is then a subsidiary comment over the challenges of a ferry from Turkey.

The ‘Greek’ section seemed most appropriate.

Richard

PS I will happily move it back and leave the title as ‘Boat’.

I have removed Turkey from the title. Though your opening post might be read that your post also asked a question over a sailing from Turkey:
From Turkey the south its not possible.
Anyone recently taken this route ?

PPS Where you been for months?

I have asked why, You have changed the title of my post. In my post it clearly states NOT from Turkey. And yet you change my post to From Turkey. Is this an attempt to yet again provoke me. ?
Why would you put the title as "Boat"
Please put it back to how it was, and stop interfering. Unless you do want a reaction from me :beerjug:

Not recently but we used a ferry from Pireaus to Limassol a couple of times, pretty rough and ready but did the job.

Most of the reviews all say that. Budget. But, as long as it gets the job done (y)

Used to be a lovely place but over developed now which is a shame - ok if you’re are Chinese or Russian and want to buy EU citizenship (southern Cyprus)

All done now, Nigel.

Nobody died.

PS Ferries aside, there seems to be a theme building that Cyprus is, to use the vernacular, a shit hole. Odd, as the Troodos mountains are nice.

Now, where have you been?

Completely unnecessary. Motives Richard?
:beerjug:
My attempt to highlight Not from Turkey didn't work:LOL:

The motives? To try to help you. Who knows, Stavros the boatman, might live for a question in the Greek sub-section and, naturally enough, take an opportunity spit on the Turks.

It would be great to learn that there is a way to go from Turkey, though the chances (to the south) are very slim to nonexistent. A trip across the border would definitely be something. It makes Northern Ireland look simple.

Now, where have you been hiding your bushel?

I don't need or request any help from you. :beerjug:
Not sure how changing my question to something I deliberately tried to keep away from helps ? :beerjug:

Anyway, you question seems to have been answered, even if one of the responses involved flying in and another seemed to say “Don’t go there”, which is rather a pity.

In between, Turkey to Cyprus remains no-go. Blame the UN, the EU and those living along Green Lanes.

Go on Richard. You can close my thread now.:beerjug:
