'06 1200GS Swing arm ....bevel box removed for...surprise, surprise.... pinion bearing problem.

looks like someone's welded up the edge of the casing, can't imagine how that could have been damaged in order to need repair in that way other than severe bodging by the previous owner or an accident. Not the best beginning if you are just starting work on the FD

Not my 'bike....I haven't got a 1200...yet.... I was having my 'bike MOT'd yesterday and the mechanic showed it to me...
