Does anyone have a list of the specs for a GS bolt kit? i.e. 10xM8x20mm, 20xM5x25 etc?

I know Steptoe does a stainless kit but I want to gather up a high tensile set as I'm fed up with shearing bolts, stainless or not! No, I'm not a ham fisted idiot using a scaffold pole over a socket set to do up an M3 buttonhead, this is mostly when I'm dismantling.

Sorry - thinking about this I could just go through the repair manual probably:blast

You should use a anti seize paste, either copaslip (PBC) or the special one made for aluminium, though I have never had a stainless bolt stick with the PBC.

I do use copperslip but it only lasts so long. Weather and constant heat syncing seems to get in and beat it in my experience. The bikes get used all year round and do a lot of miles and the bolts are frequently 'reluctant' to move. Sheared bolts are such a nightmare, I just want to avoid it. The bike is going on another long trip next year and I just want to do what I can. I don't give a toss about what the bike looks like or how much it shines, just as long as it works and I can fix it with minimal grief:rolleyes:

I have a list send me your email and I will forward it, can't remember where I got it though

Thanks - that's excellent. I'm not signed up at the moment so can't PM. I'll have to get that sorted out then get back to you.
