does anyone know if you can use a boosteroo amplifier between a mp3 and autocom 200 to increase volume in the helmet speakers which at the moment has the levels on both at maximum

No...you need to use the Boosteroo between the output of the Autocom and your headset, not betweem the mp3 player and the Autocom unit. You're looking to boost the output of the Autocom NOT the input from the mp3.
If you use it the way you've described you won't get any increase in vol as the Autocom will limit it before it gets to the headset. In fact you'l overload the Autocom input I would think.

So:

MP3--->Autocom--->Boosteroo--->Headset = GOOD

MP3--->Boosteroo--->Autocom--->Headset = BAD

ok so how do i connect, the boosteroo has 3.5mm jack sockets autocom has 5 or 7 pin din sockets is there an adaptor i can get me hands on?

you'll need to make up an adapter cable basically

Autocomm 7 or 5 pin ---> Speakers out----->Boosteroo-----> headset
| |
------------Mic------------------

You need to seperate the speakers out from the Autocom feed them through the Boostaroo on to the headset, the Mic inputs will need to by-pass this whole set up and go from the headset directly to the Autocom.

If your not too happy about doing this yourself, I'm sure Autocomm would happily make you up the correct adapter.

HTH

PS for some reason the vertical lines aren't staying in the correct place

Have a look on Maplin's website, they have all sorts of adaptor cables. Failing that, do a search on eBay
Good luck

As from the email I sent yoy the speaker positioning is a critical thing to get spot on, hence why I suggested it. My Creative Zen provides me with more than enough volume running on an open mic Easi Plus also to my old Active-7 fitted inside my stripped on Mini.

But well worth it, you just have to bite the bullet:thumb

Totally agree with this. Before getting my autocom unit I used a boosteroo with my Zumo and proprietary in helmet speakers as volume was too low. Now with the autocom fitted the volume of both music and satnav is superb. Sam at chainspeed took a great deal of care to ensure the speakers were positioned just right, and the result is excellent, and no boosteroo needed.

on friday i rode from louth to cadwell park after filling up about six miles left my ear plugs out the autocom was plenty loud enough my ultimate ears are too efficent i will talk to them about attenuation.
