Has anybody tried bmw's new transition boots ??

like the look of them.:)

Not for cross dressers then?

Better than those old thermoplastic Lancashire camel-trophy star trooper clog things...

" Precision workmanship when it comes to safety: the integrated Biomex-Protection© System makes the biker boot Transition into a high-tech product that is unique in the motorcycling world. BMW Motorrad is the only manufacturer to offer this system in the world within the field of motorcycling. The system is made up of a grid frame construction and an oblique movement axis and revolutionises motorcycle boots with a safety system in the boot itself.

The synthetic sleeve is firmly integrated in the upper material, supporting and stabilising the foot. It also provides optimum impact protection and improved impact damping. The upper material of Transition is Cordura and full-grain cowhide. Due to a Goretex membrane with lining, the boot has long time water and wind proofing, as well as being active breathing. The triple section sole provides optimised grip, the inner sole is removable and can be washed. Transition fulfils the European norm for personal protective equipment (CEN) and can thus also be worn by professional riders."

Professional and a safety boot- eh?

I'll take a pair then. Tax deductable you see...

Boundless fears, however, that they may turn out to be a touch...er... "Kraftwerk" for such an old repressed pipe and slippers third person singular Neil Diamond geezer as himself.

Good point - far better to go for their more sober & restrained product...

Them's the last years Lancashire clog things...I tried them on but it was a boat floating non event. They appeared to be entirely made out of the same stuff as my credit card.

Why! ....It didn't seem right to the child.

I was in Paris last weekend for the 1200 launch and bought a pair which I wore for the test and also to test the Multistrada (not impressed) and also the KTM 950 Adventure (a blast). I haven't got all the technical specs and didn't understand them anyway, but the boots are extremely well made and so far very comfortable. They are very light and extremely rigid as far as twisting is concerned. They seem to be built around the same sort of technology as snow boarding boots with a soft inner and a hard outer shell. Look good as well.

How about these........

went out and bought daytona roadstar gtx today.

safe choice and a benchmark boot :D

Good choice Ming - bought a pair a month or so ago and they are fantastic and very comfy.

Daytona Roadstar GTX

Dealer recommended Roadstar rather than Trans Open.

Had them 3 weeks - warm, comfortable on and off the bike. Wandered about Dorchester for several hours last week waiting for the bike to be serviced - felt like a comfortable pair of walking boots.

Paid £199 for mine :D

Ming, did you buy them in Cardiff?

I need to take my old Daytona Highways to a dealer to get them factory refurbished.

They were made of wood with a leather top and added car tyre on the sole for long wearing shuffling around the cobbled streets and the mill floor? "I don't believe it"!!!

Or is that just my Grandad's clogs that are made like that?

I really like my thermoplastic clog GS-1 boots, they keep my feet cosy and give great lower leg and ankle support when up on tiptoes.:D lets hear it for the GS-1 boot :clap :clap :clap :clap :clap :clap :clap
